ANATOLIA 5112 Dundas St. W. Mississauga. 416-207-0596 www.anatoliarestaurant.ca A small, cute Turkish restaurant that has had terrific food reviews, very friendly staff, and once-a-month special 'Night of Istanbul' complete with bellydancer (dancing to tape, Turkish-style), fortune teller, and one-man band. Usually the special night is the first Friday of each month, but sometimes it changes, so call to check and to make reservations as it's usually packed on these nights! $45 per person for Night of Istanbul, dancer on at 9:30 on the special Friday night once a month (usually the first Friday of each month).
CHRISTINA'S 535 Danforth Avenue (west of Carlaw) 416-463-4418 www.christinas.ca Great place for Greek food on the prime Danforth party strip! Of course you'll see a different style of bellydancing - it's Greek: less emphasis on solo show and more skipping and shimmying through the crowd; you'll also be amazed at the importance given to zill work (finger cymbals), and the skills you'll be able to observe. There's a live Greek band, although dance performances are usually to taped music. Danisa dances here at 9:00 on Fridays & Saturdays.

SULTAN'S TENT 49 Front St. E. (west of Church) 416-961-0601 www.thesultanstent.com The new Sultan's Tent is the only place in Toronto that features bellydancers every night of the week! It's also located downtown and the shows are earlier in the evening than most Middle Eastern restaurants which are definitely perks! The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated with exotic Morroccan furnishings and decorations. From Sunday to Thursday, bellydance shows are at 7:30 & 9:30pm and Fridays & Saturdays they are 7:00, 9:00, and 10:30pm... WOW! That's a lot of shows each week! It has a lot of interesting jewellery (coins, rhinestones, etc.), plus they recently added a wall area of coin and chain mail belts, bras and tops that are a lot cheaper and more beautiful than most other places that sell them here (only silver I think). This is a terrific store!
